About Waypoint
How Waypoint started
On a small AM station in 1979. Our story, how we work and who makes the shows.
Our story
It started on a small AM station
In 1979, Pastor Walt bought fifteen minutes a week on the AM station in his farming town, because he thought the farmers deserved something better to listen to on the tractor than the grain prices. He read a chapter of the Bible and talked about it. People started calling in.
Today our shows are heard on podcast apps, smart speakers and 300 radio stations in 24 languages, and they’re still paid for by the people who listen.
